The MMF Bison Local is the autonomous democratically elected Local Metis Government located at the University of Manitoba and a political arm of the Manitoba Metis Federation. As a political arm of the Manitoba Metis Government, Bison Local represents the political, social, and economic interests of all Metis Citizens.

UN LOCAL FRANCOPHONE
La mission particulière du Conseil Elzéar-Goulet est de défendre les intérêts des Métis de langue française de la région de Winnipeg à l'intérieur de la structure de gouvernance métisse de la Manitoba Metis Federation.
Le Conseil Elzéar-Goulet se veut solidaire de l'Union nationale métisse Saint-Joseph du Manitoba dans sa mission de conserver l'intégrité de l'oeuvre historique, linguistique et culturelle de Louis Riel, père fondateur de la province du Manitoba.
Les buts précis du Conseil Elzéar-Goulet sont de :

METIS COUNCIL
Seven Oaks Métis Council (SOMC) is one of the locals in Winnipeg that act as the grassroots government for the MMF.
Seven Oaks Métis Council was founded out of pure passion for the Métis Citizens living in Winnipeg Region. Our goals, ambitions, and inspirations have come together to form a truly amazing Local within Winnipeg Region that all of us are proud to be part of.
Our Objectives
1. To promote and instill pride in the Metis history and culture by providing our citizens with relevant cultural training opportunities and education sessions.
2. To educate our citizens with respect to their legal, political, social, and other rights as Métis Citizens.
3. To organize the Métis people our local.
4. To promote the objectives of the Manitoba Métis Federation Inc. (MMF) and Winnipeg Métis Association Inc. (WMA).
5. To inform our citizens of all matters that affect the MMF and WMA.
6. To initiate programs to address the needs of our members.
